I moved to Paris, France, from California in 1970 and worked as a business manager for a photographer, and also as an artist and illustrator. While there I traveled often to different parts of Europe and Africa, visiting the ancient worlds while learning the values of diversity. I returned frequently to Morocco, Senegal, Mauritania, Niger, and Egypt, where I journeyed to the center of pyramids and other ruins. These travels sparked an interest in archaeology.

Later I moved to Taos, then Santa Fe, and began to appreciate the incredible history of the Southwest. When I became the office manager for OAS, I was fortunate to associate with the staff archaeologists and be in touch with, even if peripherally, ongoing developments in this field.

I've been lucky enough to have a job where learning is open-ended and challenges continue through my daily effort to help the staff pursue their fascinating work. I work with finance and the office staff, searching for the best piece of equipment at the best prices, maintaining vehicles, field and lab supplies, and camera equipment. All have to be ready at a moment's notice. I am also involved with the Friends of Archaeology, keeping an open line of communication with all members while helping coordinate day trips, and annual fund raisers in support of the many educational programs at OAS.
