I joined the OAS staff in 1997 after working in Vermont and then for a private contract firm in Santa Fe. Since then I have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of diverse and interesting projects. These include excavations of Archaic sites along the Santa Fe Relief Route, American and Spanish Colonial buildings behind the Palace of the Governors, and most recently, a nineteenth-century industrial complex at the Santa Fe Railyard.
The great thing about contract archaeology is variety, which provides scope for changing research interests. Currently I am working on structure and feature analysis of early Developmental sites along NM 22 and structure analysis for the Palace of the Governors, and am gearing up to start lithic analysis of the Palace assemblage. I also have an interest in GIS and participate in public outreach and education programs.
